Gorenje är en slovenskvitvarutillverkare.
Gorenje grundades i byn Gorenje och började tillverka jordbruksmaskiner. År började man tillverka spisar och en flytt till dagens hemort Velenje följde och uppförandet av en egen fabrik. År följde den första exportframgången då spisar exporterades till Tyskland. Man utökade utbudet med tvättmaskiner, kylar och frysar. Senare köptes andra firmor upp och Gorenje kom att ha en rad olika produkter (bland annat medicinsk utrustning, telekommunikation, TV-apparater) förutom vitvaror innan man åter koncentrerade sig på kärnverksamheten. Företaget byggde upp ett återförsäljarnät i Västeuropa och USA. Gorenjes anställda i Jugoslavien växte till över 20 personer.
Från följde en omorganisering och privatisering där Gorenje blev ett aktiebolag. Jugoslaviens sönderfall innebar att Gorenje förlorade stora delar av hemmamarknaden, och valde att gå in för exportmarknaderna. Idag exporterar företaget 84 procent av sin produktion med fokus på EU och östra Europa. Produktionen och produkterna moderniserades samtidigt. In , Gorenje was established by the Yugoslavian government in the village of Gorenje, Šmartno ob Paki. Initially, the company manufactured agricultural machinery. In , Gorenje started producing solid-fuelcookers. In , the company was relocated to the nearby town of Velenje. In , Gorenje exported the first cookers to Germany. [clarification needed]
In , Gorenje started producing tvätt machines beneath license from Zanussi. The first tvätt machine was PS (a re-badge of Zanussi's eponymous Rex Superautomatic Mod. ). A total of 10, units were produced until the end of A follow-up model, PS (a re-badge of Zanussi's Rex T4), was launched in The first two models were only assembled in Velenje, as all parts and components came from Italy.
